Everybody loves themed events. From a child’s Spiderman birthday party to their parent’s Luau cocktail mixer (see both at the same party here), a theme not only makes the event environment and experience unforgettable, it also makes planning and decorating easier by giving the coordinator direction.
A local church hosted their annual silent auction fundraiser atop a beautiful, hillside estate. This year, the plan was a Tuscany vineyard theme. Warm, muted, earth tones complimented the cocktail and lounge seating areas. A wooden arbor with sheer draping was used as a quaint and chic partition for a lounge vignette on one side of the tent, while mahogany Chiavari barstool cocktail seating with a hillside view was arranged on the opposite side.
Cocktail tables were dressed up with solid black and gold organza linens. The crafty event designer created an awesome center piece using reclaimed wine bottles as candle holders and….wait for it….wine cork molded candles for accent lighting, genius! And adding compliment to creativity were round gold chargers as the base and fresh grapes as an accent.
Floral arrangements, giant terra cotta wine bottle sculptures, flower garlands and sheer draping dressed the yard’s wood awning while earth toned pillows accented lounge furniture. Sleek, white, spandex wrapped coffee tables topped with over sized wine glass candle holders accented all the soft seating areas.
Right smack in the middle of the layout were the silent auction tables. Many of the items followed suit with the event’s theme, from great wine pairing finger food gift baskets to Italian home accent pieces.
With its muted tones and tranquil venue, the event environment was very relaxing and gender neutral. Not too dainty, and not too macho, just classy, calm, and relaxing. If you plan on holding a fundraiser, a stylishly serene event design and wine tasting activities are a great way to get guests to open their hearts and wallets for a good cause.
