We had the please to work at a buddhist temple this past weekend. We had to create a custom made stage, The ground in which the stage would be sitting was on a slope , so we the stage had to adjust accordingly so It could remain leveled. The top of the stage was illuminated and the top it self had a custom logo printed. The three levels of the stage had it rising a total of 6′  On the outside areas we had bleachers which were illuminated by our LED lights.

We had a great time helping set up for a wedding reception at Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Simi Valley last month. Our crew delivered catering, and dining equipment and installed a stage, Bistro string lighting across the main villa’s courtyard for the reception of 200 guests.

Billotti’s Catering built out a kitchen of to the side of the reception area in order cook on site. They were able to cook all appetizers and entrees with a portable convection oven. Over 1200 pieces of glassware were used. The reception set up included a 12′ x 16 stage and 20′ x 21′ natural wood dance floor. The crew installed 600 feet of bistro string lighting over the entire courtyard.

A mix of banquet and round tables were arranged around the space’s fountain with the head table of 28 at the bottom villa’s from entrance. Quaint florals were used as centerpieces and little sage sprouts and accented party favors atop the place settings.

When you have an event site with a million dollar view and A-list celebrities on the guest list, who’s going to let mud, wind and frigid rain get in the way of the tent installation? The team from A1 Party Rental didn’t, and forged ahead in March to install an 80-by-125-foot clear span structure on a vacant hilltop mesa in Beverly Hills for Fame and Philanthropy, a charity fundraiser tied to the 2014 Academy Awards. Perched on a 14,000-square-foot subfloor, the installation comprised 24,700 square feet of tenting, which included the big VIP tent along with press and other auxiliary tents, lounge decks, and 14,400 square feet of silver satin tent lining. When the crew showed up on Day 3 of installation to find that overnight rain and wind had caused the staking of one tent to lift, the A1 team brought in 1,800-pound cement blocks from its warehouse to secure the tent. And the gala managed to secure $1 million on party night to benefit charitable organizations around the world.

Why have a graduation ceremony indoors when you can have a stage put up and enjoy the beautiful spring time weather! Southern Californian graduates and their families enjoyed their ceremony outdoors in a beautiful grassy meadow.  A 2 tiered 48′ x 52′ stage was installed on 6′ inclined slope in front 4,600 white folding chairs for the guests and graduates.  White picket fence and white stanchions provided matching crowd control.  The reception area, a short distance away from the ceremony area, had over 100 spandex cocktail tables for guests to enjoy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails.

A company party this past week incorporated minimalism and punk glam in a Los Angeles art gallery and A1 Party provided the equipment to bring it all together! Our event coordinator collaborated with the venue director and the client’s event planner, and caterer to put together and awesome event design. 3 custom lighting fixtures were designed and manufactured in-house and hung from the venue’s awning. The dining area provided seating for 240 guests with Black Chiavari chairs at 72″ round tables. After dinner was served, the experimental/punk group No Age performed on a 20’x24′ stage. Two Empire Chandeliers were hung in the gallery and 3 more were used as an art installation at the entrance. LED Par Cans provided lighting inside and outside the venue. 5 Black Vineyard Bars and over 4,500 glasses kept guests happy and hydrated. A1 provided catering equipment including roll top chafing dishes, square and round platters as well as Gold Savoy Flatware.

What’s one of the best things about music festivals aside from the live entertainment on stage? All the cool decorations, props, custom furniture that transforms an ordinary field or park into a unique event atmosphere.

Vendors, sponsors and producers used tenting and custom structures for all their activities and operations, from merchandising and VIP viewing areas to media and catering tents.

MiO, trucked in their custom structures which stood watch over the crowd throughout the event. Five and eight foot light up bars emblazoned with MiO graphics, custom made right here in Covina, were used throughout MiO’s structure areas, VIP tent’s and MiO sampling and merchandise stations. Production Designer Stefan Beese of REBE Design was the creative behind the entire festival’s design and layout including all architectural creations, VIP lounge layouts, signage and motion graphics, and lighting.

VIP viewing tents provided guests drink and snack areas with a live feed of the concert streaming to HDTV’s mounted on the walls. The VIP lounge areas offered the same, but with soft furniture, complimentary hot catered food and an open bar, which kept the tent packed.

For those not old enough to indulge, the MiO bars provided refreshments for all ages. Next to their double-decker structure, where visitors could get an elevated view of the festival; was a 360° wrap-around light up bar, 12 feet on each side below a unique digital chandelier.

Production Designer Stefan Beese of REBE Design was the creative behind the entire festival’s design and layout including all architectural creations, VIP and Corporate lounge setups, festival signage graphics and motion graphics, and lighting.

Music festivals can be some of the most dramatic venue transformations. A venue can go from a bare grass field, to a booming entertainment compound, and back to a field, leaving no trace of night before.

A local client  wanted a festive circus theme for their annual open house.  The event was held in the business’s warehouse and the design plan was to simulate the inside of a circus tent. To achieve this, our team began the installation by running a 40’x80′ cable around the center area of the warehouse.  Vibrant red and white velon was swagged from the warehouse’s truss rafter.  The cable was then draped with material to create the perimeter of the simulated circus tent.  10″ white and red drapery dressed the walls venue’s walls and hid the business’s day to day operations. Entertainers performed on a red skirted 16’x 16’x24″ stage backed with drapery and accented with circus themed props. A Samson P/A system provided audio support. The main entrance to the event was garnished with a full swag of a 8’x10′ tent frame creating a tunnel of red and white fabric.

In a effort to promote the upcoming baseball season and to rally the fans for an exciting year under new ownership, the Dodgers invited fans to the first Fanfest of the year. Over 20,000 excited fans attended for the festivities and autograph opportunities.

Parking lot 6 was converted into a Fanfest village where guests could enjoy food, games, entertainment and an opportunity to score an autograph from their favorite players. A grandiose, 24’x520′ blue carpet entrance and branded truss arches greeted fans as they entered the village. The sponsors and vendors had their booths eager to hand out goodies to the fans.

Tenting housed the autograph areas, a pop up museum of the Dodger’s private collection, and games and activity areas. Fans were able to enjoy Dodger Dog’s from the food tent and enjoy them on Dodger blue tables. Games and giveaways were available at Fox’s Prime Ticket truss booth. The Coors Light tent housed their branded bars, a photo booth and free tastings of their newest products.

Despite the early morning rain,  the clouds cleared up just in time for the event to start.

Tradeshows and conventions are a big part of any hotel’s business and a great source of revenue; so the more the better, right?

A local hotel/tradeshow venue needed a dedicated banquet hall to satisfy its client’s dining needs during a 3 day tradeshow. The hotel needed a temporary solution.

The A1 Party Tent Division constructed a 40′ x 240′ frame tent adjacent to the venue’s convention center. A firm, comfortable sub-floor was installed beneath the tent to avoid any trip hazards from parking lot beneath. White sidewall with French windows added a perfect combination of privacy, insulation, and daytime lighting; double glass doors at all entrances gave the tent a more permanent feel.  HVAC units provided heating during the chilly morning and evening weather.

Furnishing the tent’s inside gave it the temporary hall a truly permanent feel. Tables and banquet chairs were brought in for dining and a stage and dance floor was installed for the event’s celebration.
LED Par Cans uplit all the walls and washed the ceiling. Adding ballroom elegance to the hall were five 6-foot, 3-tiered Platinum Crystal Chandeliers. These intricate lighting fixtures sparkled and glistened amidst the vibrant wash lighting. The convenience of the tents proximity to the venue and the stable, sturdy flooring allowed the venue’s catering team were able to smoothly roll their bars, service carts, and all the serving equipment and china in a proficient manner.

During the time of year when we all take a moment to be thankful for friends, family, health, and all the other blessings in our lives, one of the most fortunate things the be grateful for is the gift of giving. Annually, the King Taco Restaurant Corporation gives back to the community it owes it’s success to by handing out thousands of gifts to local children in need of some holiday cheer.

The parking lot on across from one of the restaurant’s East L.A. location was transformed into a festive Christmas area for thousands of attendees to enjoy throughout the day and early evening.

Red and white striped tents dressed up with candy cane, wreath, and snow decor provided the festive framework for the event. An inviting 50-foot Christmas tree and a giant inflatable king taco character and a huge banner welcomed guests to the event. Underneath the main tent, vibrant red Velon swaging, and red stars draped from above while a 3-foot  stage decorated with red drapery, snow-white stage skirting, a mirrored backdrop and garnished with prizes and giveaways for the children. Colored tents can help coordinate the scheme of any event, sometimes too kitschy for an elegant design, but spot on for a light hearted or whimsical event.

There are two types of event venues, the ones you shell out top dollar for because they are “just what you had in mind”; and the ones that act as a blank canvas, for you to build from the ground up.

A lavish, annual fundraiser to help cancer patients turned an empty warehouse into a night-long concert and title boxing match event with all the amenities of a posh metro lounge venue. Building the event from the ground up, the event producers hauled in concert staging, a boxing ring, and a 40’x40′ 5-foot VIP area

The ringside VIP area, guests enjoyed the title fight on cushy black couches, light up LED ottomans, and gold spandex wrapped cocktail table with chiavari barstools.

Outside the VIP areas, Guests enjoyed the night’s festivities while relaxing on an abundance of furniture groupings. Red swaging and faux crystal tier chandeliers hung over two cigar lounges which housed cheetah ottomans, metallic spandex cocktail tables and deco arm chairs and tufted black sofas

Among the food stations and tufted gold bars were big top royal benches, curved red ottomans and tan armless lounge chairs.

The VIP area sat 5 feet above the floor, giving its attendees a great view of both the boxing fights and concert. Furniture groupings consisting of plush, tufted royalty couches and ottomans, curved ultra suede tan sofas, and croc skin deco benches; all atop plush cheetah carpet and garnished with cozy fur blankets.

The cheetah theme carried from floor to ceiling with the pattern projected on all the warehouses walls.

As the nation’s football season is in full swing, our rainy season is just gearing up. After a heart-stopping  14-week college football season, the Bowl Championship Series’ Selection Sunday announces which teams will compete in the Rose, Fiesta, Sugar, and Orange Bowl games.

The official announcement party takes place annually at the Tournament of Roses House in Pasadena, CA. Fans are invited to the venue to watch the official, televised announcement from the BCS selection committee. Amidst the excitement of the broadcast, rain clouds rolled in and showered the Los Angeles area all day.

In anticipation of the season’s annual dodgy weather, the estate’s front lawn and patio are covered for the event’s reception. A 40’x60′ clear top canopy  with insulating white, sidewall and HVAC on the front lawn and a 10’x35′ canopy with clear sidewall above the front patio kept guests in the main reception areas dry and cozy. Amber and magenta up lighting gave the canopies a colorful accent.

Guests entered the venue through the side of the house. White pagodas covered the carpeted and stanchion and velvet roped sign-in area. The Coke Zero corridor along the tented front patio was equip with branded, black and red corporate furniture. The corridor opened up into the main event area set beneath the clear canopy.

Running the span of the clear top, was a gridiron stenciled Astroturf floor. Atop the playing field flooring, guests enjoyed an intimate sports fan atmosphere. Midfield, bartenders mixed cocktails under the truss-framed bar. One end zone provided lounge seating, a large step and repeat, and  silent auction tables presenting various UCLA and Rose Bowl memorabilia the opposing side provided cocktail tables additional lounge seating and fresh, hot food; from chili and fondue to good old fashioned hot dogs.

A press conference design was set-up inside the estate’s Rose Room for the anticipated announcement. Black polywood folding chairs were arranged in front of the press stage setup with a panel table and the esteemed, chrome Rose Bowl Trophy.

With the right planning and foresight A1 Party can provide the equipment and support to accommodate Southern California’s rainy days.

Hosting a celebration in the evening gives the opportunity to utilize lighting and make your event layout more dramatic with color and shadows. This event layout made use of the beautiful landscaping and architecture. The lawn was used for cocktail seating with high tables, black bar stools, lounge couches and ottomans, accented with zebra striped pillows and table linens. Under cabanas arranged around the pool were intimate furniture vignettes with rich magenta focal lighting, washing the furniture with color. The checkered dance floor was placed on one side of the custom pool, and on the opposite side was a stage built over the water backed by a waterfall/wall which acted as a projection screen for a slide show. The crowning touch was a gobo-stenciled birthday message projected into the pool. When the event was completely set up, the area was transformed from a posh backyard to sensational celebration destination!

A rustic themed BBQ hoedown fundraiser to benefit a number of charities benefiting underprivileged children. Down home cooking, live entertainment, line dancing, and a live and silent auction gave event goers plenty to do, all in the philanthropic spirit.  The event design centered around a country BBQ theme with a blue color scheme. Blue picnic and pintuck table linens dressed the center dining area tables and a burlap-like linen covered the cocktail tables. Padded chrome barstools, black Chiavari barstools, fruitwood Chiavari chairs, and fruitwood poliwood chairs were used for the various table set ups. Blue and khaki Astroturf and a 100’x100′ canopy gave parking lot event location an indoor feel. The event designer got creative and used oak barrels with a glass top as tables. For the patio and game area, sturdy picnic tables with umbrellas were setup so guests could enjoy their eats and the entertainment under the evening sky.

These happy grads accepted their diplomas on a Custom-Built Two Tiered Stage with steps, accessible ramps, trusses with swagging, and Black Poliwood Chairs for the faculty overlooking a sea of White Folding Chairs and White Picket Fencing for styling and partitioning.
